Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), the Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and executing new business opportunities that support Novalith’s goals and objectives. Ideally, you will have a deep understanding of the lithium industry and can effectively communicate Novalith’s value proposition to prospective partners.
Proactively managing and converting a pipeline of opportunities to revenue-generating commercial arrangements.
- Identifying and building relationships with stakeholders across the global supply chain, including mining companies, mid-stream processors and cathode, battery & electric vehicle manufacturers.
- Conducting market research and analysis to assess potential opportunities using third party commodity pricing data, forecasts and other insights (e.g. BMI, Fastmarkets etc).
- Negotiating commercial contracts such as Joint Development Agreements (JDAs), Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) and technology license agreements, as required.
- Collaborating with the executive and internal teams including R&D, Engineering, Finance and Legal on market entry, pricing and product development strategies.
- Representing Novalith at conferences, speaking at industry events and maintaining a social media presence to keep up to date on industry trends and regulations.
- Identifying other sources of commercial support for Novalith, including relevant grant programs, tax regimes, rebates etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related technical field e.g. Engineering, Geology, Science.
- Proven track record (5+ years) in business development or sales.
- Deep knowledge of the Lithium industry and global market trends is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Skilled in preparing executive and board-level presentations and reports.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, with impeccable organizational and time management skills.
