The pilot plant operates the Novalith Process end-to-end, converting spodumene and producing battery-grade lithium carbonate. It has consistently demonstrated recoveries above 90% across varying ore grades. The strength of the Novalith process is its selectivity for lithium, reducing impurities and enabling fewer downstream processing steps, generating a lithium-rich liquor suitable for direct crystallization.
Product lithium carbonate from the pilot plant has been verified with accredited external laboratories against industry standard battery-grade specifications. Each batch is independently verified before supplying to customers.
Lithium extraction has run above 90% across multiple feedstocks and up to 97%. The selectivity of the process is what makes that recovery useful: fewer impurities carried forward, and a lithium-rich liquor that goes to crystallization without extra clean-up steps.
The pilot plant runs the same flowsheet as the proposed commercial facility, at a scale and design where every stream can be sampled and every variable changed. Ore is fed into the process, and lithium carbonate product is drawn off across campaigns that run for multiple days at a time.
Each campaign is designed to test how the process responds to different ore grades, and how changing process variables affects extraction, recovery, and purity. This builds the confidence needed to take the process to commercial scale.
